I love to talk.

It all started with some free web space provided by my ISP. I thought it might be quite fun to set up a simple web page to share my hobbies with friends and family. At the time I was enjoying photography and thought it would be great to have a site to showcase some of my favourite images. It kinda got a bit out of control!

I couldn't stop making little adjustments and changes. Before too long I had taught myself how to use Photoshop (to a point anyway!) and valid HTML and CSS to present my ideas. In time, friends had expressed appreciation and wanted in! So I started designing for others, free of charge. I realised that smaller businesses and sole traders need a web designer that is not going to break the bank, one that will give a price for the whole project and stick to it. So that's what I do.

Good for you, good for me too!

Why bgD? Well, why not? I started off as Blue Gecko Design, as I wanted a name for my web design that sounded interesting. Being based in Cornwall, I don't live a million miles away from the beautiful coastline of the Lizard Peninsula. I like the colour blue. The rest is history. In time, Blue Gecko Design has evolved into bgD. Really, it's just a catchy name that I'm hoping people will remember and tell others about. It also sounds nice when you say it out loud, bee-gee-dee!
